FRIENDS of Barb City Manor

This volunteer auxiliary performs a great variety of services as well as fund raising activities. Meetings are scheduled every September, February, and June on the 1st Tuesday.

FRIENDS meetings accomplish the following:

Welcome attendees, new FRIENDS members, and new Barb City Manor residents.
Facilitate any programs or presentations offered at the meeting.
Approval of minutes for the next meeting.
Treasurer reports prior fiscal season outcomes.
Inform members on activities or accomplishments of each committee.
Promote projects to raise funds.
Receive information from the Administration.
Adjourn for social hour and refreshments.

How to Join: Interested persons are invited to attend any meeting. Persons wishing to join may pay dues according to the following schedule and fill out a volunteer interest form.

DUES: Due the fiscal year is July 1st to June 30th.
1. Active Membership is $2.00 per year.
2. Supportive membership is $5.00 per year.
3. Life Membership is $100.00.

Committees

Barb City Manor, a not-for-profit retirement home, is a modern facility accommodating persons 60 years of age or older who are in ambulatory good health and desire to lead active lives. FRIENDS of Barb City Manor was organized in 1981 to promote the health and welfare of residents, to contribute to the Resident Endowment Fund, to enhance the facilities and to publicize Barb City Manor.

FRIENDS is a vivacious, active, and caring auxiliary. Any person interested in supporting the purposes of FRIENDS is invited to join. A member can be of service by participating on one or more of the following committees:

Friendship committee: Plans and coordinates parties and activities throughout the year for the entertainment and socialization of resists and welcomes new residents on a one-to-one basis.

Gift Shop Committee: Staffs the Gift Shop, assists residents in making purchases, and provides a weekly shopping service.

Historical / Library Committee: Keeps history books current with newspaper articles and pictures.

Special Events Committee : Assists with special events at Barb City Manor.

Interior Furnishings Committee: Enhances the attractiveness of the physical environment of Barb City Manor.

Trip Committee: FRIENDS plans fundraising trips every other year through Carder Travel.

Resale Shop Committee: Provides a quality resale shop consisting of clothing and home accessories that are donated by the local community.

Christmas Decoration Committee : Ddecorates Barb City Manor in keeping with the holiday.
